Tent Revival 04:05
LYRICS Silent in the field Waiting for the yield. There’s struggle in the ground The harvest happens now Gather up again it’s time הִתְעוֹרְרִי קוּמִי (hitor’ri, kumi) Shake off all the dust Awake and rise up Feel the bonds unleash Hear the herald of your peace Lift your voice as one it’s time פִּצְחוּ רַנְּנוּ יַחְדָּו (pits’chu ran’nu yachdav) CHORUS: It’s time to revive Raise your tent to the sky Drive your stakes deep Draw your ropes wide Let the people in it’s time Let the people in it’s time Restless in the streets Breathless for release Pulse beats hard and loud Races through the crowd Heed the call to life it’s time שִׁמְעוּ וּתְחִי נַפְשְׁכֶם (shim'u ut'chi nafsh’chem) Break the barricades Throw back all the gates Set aside the shield Melt the arms of steel Restore the sign of peace it’s time וּבְרִית שְׁלוֹמִי לֹא תָמוּט (uv'rit sh’lomi lo tamut) CHORUS Just as rain flows down וְהוֹלִידָהּ(v'holidah) And the snow grows the ground וְהִצְמִיחָהּ(v'hitsmichah) I send my love to you And you shall give You shall give You shall give it away Raise up those worn down Take in those left out Don’t hold back Don’t hold back אַל- תַּחְשֹׂכִי (al-tach'sochi) CHORUS
2.
LYRICS Who gave you the light That warms you and surrounds You walk from here to there Who gave you the ground Who gave you the stars To wish upon and dream You aim your ship and sail Who gave you the sea Once you were afraid A stranger in the town Who gave you your hope Who is calling now CHORUS: וַאֲהַבְתֶּם אֶת הַגֵּר כִּי גֵרִים הֱיִיתֶם (Va’ahavtem et ha-geir ki geirim heyitem) Love the stranger You were strangers Love the stranger You were strangers Who gave you the breath That lifts your voice to sing You fall and rise again Who gave you the wings They’re just beyond the wall The fall upon the shore We can hear them knock Who gave us the door CHORUS How easy it can be To let the fear take hold You were once set free Remember we were told Love the stranger You were strangers Love the stranger You were strangers וַאֲהַבְתֶּם אֶת הַגֵּר כִּי גֵרִים הֱיִיתֶם (Va’ahavtem et ha-geir ki geirim heyitem)

LYRICS If the thunder was your son And your daughter was the sky If the waters in the river Were your brothers rushin’ by If your daddy was a valley Where the wild flowers grow And the mountains in the distance Were your sisters capped with snow CHORUS: Would we see This is our family Would we know Their Godly worth And their blessings All from Heaven If our mother was the earth If those trees are standing tall Because Grandad’s at the roots If the ocean tides keep rollin’ All because of Grandma moon If that burning light above Was a child lookin’ down Digging into soil To help grown the fertile ground CHORUS If we listen for the ancients In their storm clouds’ lullaby And we hear the call of children In a coyote’s plaintive cry CHORUS

LYRICS כִּי אֶל אֲשֶׁר תֵּלְכִי אֵלֵךְ וּבַאֲשֶׁר תָּלִינִי אָלִין עַמֵּךְ עַמִּי וֵאלֹהַיִךְ אֱלֹהָי בַּאֲשֶׁר תָּמוּתִי אָמוּת (ki el-asher teilchi eilech uva’asher talini alin ameich ami v’Eilohayich Elohai ba’asher tamuti amut) On a dusty open road to her homeland in the west Naomi could not hold All the tears that she had left As she stood before her journey She said goodbye to Ruth Go on to your family May the lord always bless you But Ruth would never leave her Naomi was her home She said as she held her You’re the family I know CHORUS: Wherever you go I will go there too Where you live I’ll live Your people will be mine Your god will be my god And where you rest I’ll lie Through the barren lands Beneath a desert flame The strength found in each other Was a providential rain And it brought them to the Jordan Where they waded through the tides Over hills that followed To a promised land they climbed CHORUS Along the path between them A covenant was sewn A bond that gave Ruth freedom In the family she chose עַמֵּךְ עַמִּי (ameich ami) CHORUS כִּי אֶל אֲשֶׁר תֵּלְכִי אֵלֵךְ וּבַאֲשֶׁר תָּלִינִי אָלִין עַמֵּךְ עַמִּי וֵאלֹהַיִךְ אֱלֹהָי בַּאֲשֶׁר תָּמוּתִי אָמוּת (ki el-asher teilchi eilech uva’asher talini alin ameich ami v’Eilohayich Elohai ba’asher tamuti amut)

Susanna 04:11
LYRICS She walked among the flowers on the vines As sun bathed her path Susanna closed her eyes But she was not alone among the violets and the trees Before she could escape their grip they had her on her knees No one sees your here they said as skies went gray Shhhhh don’t make a sound just let us have our way But she would not go down without a fight with these two men Susanna raised her voice they tried but they could not keep her quiet CHORUS: O Susanna she did not shut up She cried out to Heaven They tried to shout her down By raising up the crowd Susanna could not be silenced O Susanna she did not shut up Don’t you cry for them She won the fight but they pressed the war Charged her that night next day she went before The people of the town so they could judge her holiness Without regard or question why these men were so relentless They told their lies the town was ashamed In their careless eyes Susanna was to blame And no one said a word for her the men they were believed Susanna once again fought back and called on high to be set free CHORUS Susanna let it ring her voice to the sky not knowing who it would find When Daniel heard her call, Daniel he spoke out Among the crowd, he was the only one When they learned the truth The town condemned their lies As they were lead away Susanna did not cry CHORUS

The Prophet 04:41
LYRICS Fear was not an option the prophet held on to Every day she lied to them made it hard to tell the truth She mourns the loss of family who put her on the run They never understood why she never was their son No room in the home so the prophet sleeps alone No room in the home so the prophet sleeps alone Maybe on the train tonight, maybe on the street Maybe on a colder night in a stranger’s bed she’ll sleep Passersby look twice, they can’t believe she’s here Transcending expectations strikes a deeply rooted fear No room in the home so the prophet sleeps alone No room in the home so the prophet sleeps alone The prophet has a hand out, giving us a chance To see beyond the boundaries of a woman or a man God said as you are, you are loved by me By the words she learned long ago she’ll be redeemed We are called to abide: faith, hope, love The greatest of these is love The greatest of these is love God said as you are, you are loved by me By the words she learned long ago she’ll be redeemed And the glory will emerge like a fire in her eyes Calling us to justice for the prophets always rise Rise Rise
7.
LYRICS Sunrise at the table don’t got time eat on the run Racing for the bus to catch before the last one comes Between the meetings calling on a friend who needs a hand Giving one more dime away you can’t afford to spend You worry ‘bout the children and the elders’ coming age You worry how this pay check’s gonna make a living wage You fight the good fight hoping the work’s not all in vain You stumble home and wonder can you do it all again CHORUS: Today’s trouble is enough Today’s trouble is enough You can twist yourself tomorrow in all kinds of tangled knots But today’s trouble is enough That list keeps getting longer all the things you gotta do Check one off and double all the rest plus one more too Not much time in one day’s hours only helping just a few But saving all the world’s a matter not just up to you CHORUS The lilies in the grass are still and mostly satisfied Happy with a raindrop and a promise in the sky Light comes up each morning it’s never let us down Take a lesson from the lilies who don’t make the world go ‘round CHORUS Photography by Harold Levine

Lift My Soul 03:55
LYRICS Lift my soul to you, oh to you Give to me my rest, oh my rest Over rain, I see, over rain To that golden blue time of sky Sun rise with me, oh with me I’ve known joy, oh lord, I’ve known pain Not always at ease but oh I’ve known peace When the rains came oh they flowed Blessing me with life, so much life Stars gave way to dawn but I dreamed on All around is love, all my love Give them rest, oh please, heaven bless Let them hear me in rain, let them hear Through the blue morning light all through night In the breeze, oh please, know that’s me Lift my soul to you, oh to you Give to me my rest, oh my rest Take my hand, I’m free, oh I’m free

I Am 05:19
LYRICS Child on the sidewalk Spinning through the air His laughter pours like honey And the bees don’t even care He follows trails to ant hills Nestled in the grass He marvels at their travels With leaves upon their backs His sister gets a scratch on Her knee ‘cause she fell down He brushes dirt to fix the hurt Brings a smile to her frown A man says son the future Is a time you’ll one day see What do you imagine You’ll grow up to be He answers I’m a dancer, I’m a healer, I’m a lover of nature I can grow free like the tall trees I am right now not later Child by the ocean Her town of golden sand Has castles reaching sunbursts And a thousand blue dragons She charges to the water And she’s followed by her friends Goes back to hold the hand of One too afraid to swim She listens to the sermon From the sanctuary pews Looks out painted windows Wonders who they’re praying to Preacher says the future Is a time you’ll one day see What do you imagine You are called to be She answers I’m a dreamer, I’m a leader I believe in something greater Like the tall trees I can grow free I am right now not later Grandad in the backyard Gathers up pecans Fallen from the largest Tree he still leans on Grandkid gathers woodchips For a fire in the cold He shows her how to build it They watch the embers glow She asks a thousand questions About the good old days How high did you climb mountains Was your beard always gray He said I wish you could have known me As a younger stronger man What do you imagine I was like back then She answers You’re a teacher, my protector, Our family wisdom keeper Like the tall trees where the roots reach You’re the young man just deeper I’m a dancer, I’m a healer, I’m a lover of nature I’m a dancer, I’m a healer, I’m a lover of nature I’m a dreamer, I’m a leader I believe in something greater I’m a teacher, I protect her, I’m a family wisdom keeper Like the tall trees where the roots reach I’ll be right now just deeper Like the tall trees where the roots reach I’ll be right now just deeper Like the tall trees where the roots reach I’ll be right now just deeper
10.
LYRICS I’ve looked to the heavens since I was small The church they taught me Jesus, Mary and St. Paul On my knees and praying or standing still and free Listening for an answer who I’m supposed to be I moved through the seasons one year to the next Searching all through scripture for the holy texts That bible belt got stifling so I through it off to breathe But in my liberation still sought divinity CHORUS: My walk with God isn’t easy My walk with God takes me places I’d never go alone My walk with God, my walk with God, my walk with God And my walk isn’t yours It never had to be But if our paths should cross There will God be Exponentially It’s a leap of faith to listen above the raging noise For a sound much sweeter, for the spirit’s voice And that’s not easy going ‘cause the loudest voice we hear Is often from each other shouting God is in my ear CHORUS Listening for the silence Allows a greater truth The promised land for me Might not be the same for you My walk with God isn’t easy My walk with God takes me places I’d never go alone My walk with God, my walk with God, my walk with God And this much I believe Love will set us free And in that full embrace There will God be Exponentially

The Ark 04:46
LYRICS Lightning in the air, tremble in the clouds Oceans rising up once again spill out Through the broken sky pours a driving rain Rushing to the world age old hurricane We’ve been here before among the wild wind Bracing for a storm waves of fear roll in Losing ground to seas of waters still unknown Greatest of the fears we might be alone How do we survive, keep our heads above Rising river tides when treading’s not enough A vessel we can raise, a channel we can forge Ride the ocean waves until we find the shore CHORUS: We can build the ark together Together we can face the storm Our hands will be the timber Our hearts the open door We can build the ark together Together we can face the storm Everyone on board’s got a challenge every day On the look out for new threats and castaways But the struggle’s not the same, some of us are free Some fight to raise a sail, others just to breathe We’ve been here before, standing on the deck Watching tidal waves hit one side spare the next There’s a promise we can make will we follow through If you look out for me, will I look out for you Can we stay awake through the tempest night For each other’s sake refuse to close our eyes From the mountain top, when the waters all recede Will we have become the world we want to be CHORUS We can’t be afraid When it’s time to send the dove Like hope we’ve got to let her fly And keep a steady march for The Community Beloved That bow in the sky We can build the ark together Together we can face the storm Our hands will be the timber Our hearts the open door We can build the ark together we can face the storm Our hands will be the timber Our hearts the open door We can build the ark together we can face the storm CHORUS

about

REVIVAL is spiritual folk-rock music with themes of love and justice.

REVIVAL is an album of spiritual folk-rock music that expresses universal themes of love and justice. Inspired and uplifting, the album features original story-driven music by Kristen Plylar-Moore performed by a small ensemble of singers and instrumentalists. Songs draw largely from Hebrew biblical texts and envision a world grounded in compassion and dignity for everyone. REVIVAL has been performed as a show in venues around NYC, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. Songs from the album have been played on radio stations from Nebraska to Maine.

The work to repair the world – tikkun olam – is hard, despairing even, but music can offer resilience and hope. Music can speak to the struggles of our times and remind us that we can still create a world that honors the earth, welcomes the stranger, and celebrates the divine in each of us. This is what REVIVAL seeks to do. To learn more about the show and how to bring it to your community, please visit us at www.RevivalTheShow.com
